FRC gives USS its stamp of approval on high standards of stewardship
USS has retained its position as a signatory to the Financial Reporting Council’s (FRC) Stewardship Code.
The Code sets high stewardship standards for those investing money on behalf of UK savers and pensioners, and those that support them.
The FRC describes stewardship as “the responsible allocation, management and oversight of capital to create long-term value for clients and beneficiaries leading to sustainable benefits for the economy, the environment and society”.
The FRC’s assessment of USS’s latest Stewardship Code report – published in May this year, and evidencing our commitment to stewardship, sustainability and good corporate governance – confirms that we continue to meet its high standards of reporting.
The FRC has published a full list of signatories who have met the standards required by the Code. Signatories are required to report annually on their stewardship policies, processes, activities and outcomes for a 12-month reporting period.
